Sustainable environmental practices are no longer a luxury. They are becoming a vital ingredient in the mix of manufacturing operations. To remain competitive, local businesses need to implement lasting changes.
In response to this need, NORTHLink, EPA Victoria and the Sustainable Energy Authority worked with local automotive component manufacturers to develop Greenlink, a handbook for environmental management systems.
Greenlink is a manual and implementation kit. It is designed to prepare small to medium manufacturers to integrate an environmental management system developed by the International Organisation for Standardisation.
So far, more than 20 local businesses have used the Greenlink program to attain ISO 14001 Certification. With a growing number of major organisations requiring their suppliers to have this accreditation, these companies have taken an enormous step towards ensuring their future success.
