Foodsmart

Food is one of the great joys of Victorians. As the owner of a business in the food industry, you know only too well the hidden effort that lies behind the finished product savoured by your customers.

Part of this effort centres on meeting the safety standards required by law in your preparation and handling of food. This includes having a Food Safety Plan in place for your business.

To alleviate the time and money food businesses were spending developing their plans, the City of Whittlesea created FoodSmart; an initiative to create Food Safety Plans online. The success of this initiative was reflected in our winning of the 2002 National Awards for Innovation in Local Government in the Information Technology category.
